Cooper’s sister, Verna, had grown to be the signifigantly bigger and stronger of the two siblings. Verna was 21 and Cooper had just turned 19. Verna was into sports and she was muscular and athletic whereas Cooper was quite the opposite with a small and weedy build. Today we find them both in the kitchen where Cooper is challenging Verna to an arm wrestling bout. She would easily win such a match but Cooper is banking that she will shy away, leaving him with at least the psychological victory.
