Kevin had just lost his job and had less than 700 dollars left in savings. His landlord was threatening him with eviction but fortunately his friends allowed him to stay in the attic of the house they were renting. But during the first night of his stay in the attic he was having creepy feelings. He was convinced that the shadowy, musty space harbored some kind of menace and so he gathered up his stuff and bolted out the very next morning.
And that was when for some wacky reason he started shrinking in size. And that was also when he found a new home, with Ember and Marlowe.
