Only the men were vulnerable to the virus infection because of their Y chromosome. Women were naturally immune. The virus wasn’t fatal but it still had a disastrous effect, it totally disabled a guy’s sex organs so that if he got infected it was the same as being castrated. He’d be a total loser in the bedroom. Guys were at home hiding in their closets until the vaccine came along.

That is unless you had a certain rare blood type in which case you were completely immune to the virus. And lucky me had the blood type. And the chicks found me quick. And then things got kind of weird.
